When you are logging into the server to send email, you must authenticate outgoing email. This is a separate option in your email client setup. To check, go to your email address properties, then go to your servers properties and make sure you are authenticating outgoing email. Also some clients support pop3 before smtp for logging into the email server. This option will stop some of the rcpthosts people receive.
